HOMESTEAD HANDMADE CERAMIC CHICKEN FEEDER

The homestead feeder is the larger version of the backyard feeder, designed for those most greatly affected by chicken math. If you are like me and can’t resist those Chocolate Orpington hatching eggs or Salmon Faverolle chicks then this is the feeder for you. 

Just like the backyard feeder, it is as cute as a button in a backyard run. Handmade, constructed and glazed at my home studio in SW Washington.

Some features of the feeders include:

Durable- Made from outdoor friendly stoneware clay. The body is 1/4” thick at minimum. 

Non-Porous- Is a safe, sealed sanitary surface that is easy to clean and will not leach nasties like galvanized zinc metal coatings, rubber, or plastic. Glaze is Lead free.

Tip Resistant- heavier and wider base prevents tip overs and is shaped to prevent roosting.

Clump Resistant- A domed base encourages the feed to fall easily as the flock empties the cups. Mash, Pellets or Crumble.

Low Waste- the cup design discourages spillage. 

Dimensions: 11 3/4” at the widest point, 10” tall. 

Feed Capacity: 3 Quarts of Mash or one full large feed scoop (pellets or crumbles may vary slightly).

Feeder is designed to hold a days worth of feed for 10-15 large fowls, or 15-25 bantams.

Shipping- These are large items so great care is taken in packaging and shipping to ensure safe arrival. For domestic US (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) these ship at a flat rate of $30 with UPS Ground. All other locations will ship with the calculated rate via USPS.
