These feeders look at home in the garden or backyard chicken run and inspire a sense of nostalgia for the days before plastic. Every feeder is handmade, finished and glazed in my home studio in SW Washington.
Some features of the feeder include:
Durable- Made from outdoor friendly stoneware clay. The body is 1/4” thick in most places.
Non-Porous- Is a safe, sealed, sanitary surface that is easy to clean and will not leach nasties like galvanized zinc metal coatings, rubber, or plastic. Glaze is Lead free.
Tip Resistant- heavier and wider base prevents tip overs and is shaped to prevent roosting.
Clump Resistant- A domed base encourages the feed to fall easily as the flock empties the cups. Mash, Pellets or Crumble.
Low Waste- the cup design discourages spillage, having only a days worth of food encourages chickens to "clean up" after themselves
Dimensions & Capacities:
10 1/2” at the widest point, 11” tall.
Feed Capacity: 2 Quarts of Mash or 2/3 of a large feed scoop (pellets or crumbles may vary slightly).
Feeder is designed to hold a days worth of feed for 5-8 large fowls, or 7-10 bantams.
Shipping- These are large items so great care is taken in packaging and shipping to ensure safe arrival. For domestic US (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) I ship at a flat rate of $20 with UPS Saver. All other locations will ship with the calculated rate via USPS. Don't hesitate to reach out if something else would work better for you or the rate doesn't seem right.
